This is my view an history recollection of events in the model plane club an before.
back in the 50s there was John Whyne,Johnny Seradura,The Van Gal boys an Dicko as hes called, John W being good friend of the Hearns from Hearns Hobby's in Melbourne could get all the balsa he needed an plans so he built plenty planes an boats an was quiet busy for a while then it seemed fall flat for a few years until Roley Ruck bought the News Agency an being very keen himself it flourished for a number of years an this was in the 70s
In the earl yer days they had controlines an gliders like this one
Hear are some of the gliders we used to have an they kept you fit as they could go for miles Pictured l to r Neil Avery an Michael BlandThe planes they fly now are a far cry from these planes an they seen to proffer glow plugs now as it was hard to keep chasing up either for the fuel an they also fly the jet engine planes now to an they are a marvel an sound like the real thing.
Hear are a few of the models they fly now , actually i have seen them hang on the prop an scrape the dirt with the tail an then just lift of an fly away .
